Videography
Great video starts with knowing who you’re talking to
Video shouldn’t just be about making something that looks good. The most effective content starts with understanding your audience, what you want them to do or feel, and the outcome you’re trying to achieve.
Who are you trying to reach? What matters to them? What problem are you solving? And, most importantly, what do you want them to take away from watching your film?
The first few seconds are critical. Your audience is constantly deciding whether something is worth their time, so your video needs a strong hook that immediately gives them a reason to keep watching. That might be a question, a problem they recognise, a surprising fact, an emotional moment or a compelling visual.
From there, the content should be structured around your audience rather than simply what you want to say about your business. Every scene, message and piece of information should have a purpose — whether that’s to educate, explain, reassure, inspire, build trust or encourage someone to take action.
The end goal might be generating enquiries, increasing awareness, explaining a complex subject, improving understanding, supporting training or simply helping someone make a decision.
Good video gets attention. Great video has a purpose.
